LABOUR IN SOUTH AFRICA.
PRETORIA, December 9. ; Mr Smuts advocated that- while the immigration statistics pointed to thfe alarming fact that the coloured people were increasing in greater proportion than the whites, machinery ought to be established for getting labour for work at a reasonable, living wage. If they were unable to get it in South Africa they must draw from countries where it was plentiful.
