Mr Ben Tillett, speaking to a crowd of 15,000, at Tower Hill, stated that the strike committee had granted permission to the Post Office authorities to get fodder and petrol in order that the mails should not be interfered withy and had also granted permission 1 to the West Ham guardians t<> secure food for the children.

Mr Gosling, Secretary of the.Transport Workers' Union, states that the deadlock is in connection with 6000 lightermen whpse grievances prevent the strike ending.
