HeN writes as follows with regard to butter;. :- ' 1n'1909 tlie i>rices of dairy, produce • . were low. The. production; •of - butter ••" in the summer of 1909 wa& .considerable, and. the export slightly increased. The trade in Danish butter was fairly satisfactory througheut the year, there being no,violent fluctija^ions or subsequent periods of depression as in. 1908. The trade was steady and uni- , form, profitable both to buyer and seller. Tho average price of butter, according to the Danish official quotation,, was about 99 £r, (£5 10s) in 1909, whiehVis abouS'3 kr. (3s 4Jd) lees than in 1908, when the quotations in February reached 124 kr. and 125 kr. (£6 Pb Ud and £6 19s). Tn 1909 the total export of Danish butter amounted to.. 178,426,0001b5, against 177,863,700 lbs in. 1908 and 171.303,4001bs in 1907. Of-this quantity 170,841,7001bs went to the 1 United Kingdom and 6,482,5001bs to Oermany. The export of foreign bnfcter was 13.031,7001bs to tho. United Kingdom and 8,390,4001bs to Ger-. many.
