. WELLINGTON, May 22. 1 The annual meeting of the New Zealand Football Association was held to-night. The chairman, Mr H. N. Holmes, spoke iopefuliy of the progress of the Association and the lacreasing popularity of the game. There were now 225 teams playing under the auspices of the Association. The offer of Messrs Pettit and Dudley, of Palmerston North, to present a cup of the value of 10gs for competition mw der Cup rules, was accepted; the trophy to be called the New ZealandAssociation Football Cup, the competition to commence this year if possible, and the final to be played at Palmerston North, if convenient. The question of" a New South .Wales tour was left in the hands of the Council. It was decided to cable to the New South Wales Association, asking if it is prerred to send a team to New Zealand tliis year. j
