VICE-REGAL VISIT TO ASH= BURTON.

Tho Vice-regal Reception Committee met this morning at the Borough Council Chambers and arranged a programme for tho reception of His Excellency the Governor, when he visits Ashburton on the 23rd instant.

It was arranged to moet Lord Plunket on his arrival at the railway station at five o'clock. A dinner will be given at seven o'clock, and probably all guests will bo required to appear m evening dress. It is proposed to conduct His Excellency round the district on the following clay by motor car. He will visit the schools and institutions.

x AII the proposed arrangements will be submitted to His Excellency for his final approval. Mr Win. Nosworthy, M.P., has also received advice from the Governor's Private Secretary, and will assist m entertaining Lord Plunket during his visit to Ashburton.
