ERRONEOUS STATEMENTS.

Received December 16, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, December 15. Mr Lloyd George, while speaking at Carnarvon, stated that a small tailor's shop next 'door to Cardiff Castle was assessed at £947 sterling annually, while the Marquis of Bute was assessed at '£922. The tailor's solicitors proved that his assessment was only £40, and asked Mr George to apologise. Mr George replied that the premises he meant were not strictly next door, and mentioned the name, which is one of the largest clothing emporiums m Wales. He admits that Lord Bute contributes £33,000 sterling annually to the Cardiff rates. , .
