The Attorney-General gave notice to move that the Standing Orders be suspended for.the remainderldf.the session m order to enable all Bills to be put through all their stages,at one sitting. The third reading of the Land Settlement Finance Bill was agreed to on the voices after a long debate. The Shipping and Seamen Amendment Bill passed its final stag«.
DEATH DUTIES BILE. The adjourned debate on the Death Duties Bill was resumed : by Mr. Anstey, who thought the succession duty might have been higher, and estate duty somewhat lower. He criticised the principle of grading* in the Bill. Mr Wigram, having criticised certain passages of the Bill, the debate was adjourned till 7.45 p.m.
