ASHBURTON PLOUGHING MATCH.
The annual ploughing match held under the auspices of the Ashburton A. and P. Association will take place on Mr James Cow's farm, Ford's road, Tinwald, on July Ist. Thirty-four entries have been received for the competitions, as against twenty-two last year. The entries are distmrfrted as follows . . _, . Entries. Class A—Championship doublefurrow (open) ... 5 Class B—Double-fufVow (county only) -," 14 Class C —Three-furrow (county" only) 6 Class D—Double-furrow (youths under twenty) ... "... ..., 6 Class E—Single-furrow ... 3 Total ... • ... ..." 34 Mr T. Pearce has secured the catering rights, and luncheon will be procurable on the ground. The match will start at 10.30 a.m., and 142 of the best Clydesdale horses in the county will be seen working together in one paddock—a sight worth going a long way to. see. Complete arrangements are being made by the committee, and, given favourable weather, the match should be one of the best of the kind ever held in the county; ■
