TROTTING ASSOCIATION.
CHRISTCHURCH, June 2. A of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held this afternoon. The Victorian Trotting Association wrote, stating that it considered it would hardly be satisfactory to deal by correspondence with the subjects which it had suggested should be discussed at a conference, between the governing bodies of New Zealand, Nwt South Wales and Victoria. It was prepared to, waive the suggestion that delegates should bind their respective Associations, m regard to the American standard, the Victorian Association expressed the opinion that it was too severe for Australasia. Several other subjects were suggested for discussion. The president said he thought that if such a. conference was to be held New Zealand was the place for it, and the date of the trotting conference m July might prove a suitable time. It was decided to write to New South Wales and Victoria to that effect, suggesting that if July was too early the conference might be held m Ohristchureh during August.
