THE SAMARITAN HOME.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 1. At a meeting of the Samaritan Home Trustees it was reported ;that the prospective deficit for the year ending 31st of the present month was £300. The chairman doubted whether the Home (a separate institution) could be carried on unless some more satisfactory financial arrangements were made. It appeared that mistake had been made m the annual requisition forwarded to the Hospital and Charitable Aid 'Boards last year, through which mistake the Hospital Board's contribution was reduced by £100 and m addition the £100 supposed to be contributed by. the voluntary subscribers has not yet been collected, and there only remains the present month m which to collect it. A deputation was appointed to await on the chairman of the Hospital Board to explain the position to him.
