MASKELYNE AND DEVANT'S MYSTERIES.

To-night the Maskelyne and Cbok Company, brought from London by Mr Henry Hay ward, will open m the Oddfellows' Hall. The entertainment is a summing up of all modern conjuring* Juggling, and 6tage illusions, and comes direct from the acknowledged headquarters—the workshop whence all lesser companies of their class obtain their effects as from a wholesalo depot. The firm has never before toured outside Great Britain. The various characters m the elabor-ately-staged sketches will be sustained by Messrs Paul, Burt and Booth, assisted by a staff of fifteen and the Misses Westerleigh, dirties, and Barkley, who have been associated with Mr Maskelyne at the Egyptian and St George's Halls for some years, and j have been most carefully trained for I the difficult parts they have to play. Giutaro, who has been termed tne Cin- | quevalli of Japan, presents his act m I the scene of one of his flowery native villages, and a-"-ears with his wife m gorgeous national costume. A light orchestra and some fine 'cello solos b~ Signor JVlartinengo constitute the musical part of the entertainment, which moves altogether very quickly. A warm welcome is assured for the company, which for so long has been known all over the Empire by repute. The box plan is at Jones's.
