A SMART SUMMER SUIT. £2 ss, £2 10s, £2 15s and £3 3s. MADE TO MEASURE. rjIHE SUITS now being made by X GEOIIGJS DA VIES, at his sample rooms m tho Arcade, at the above prices, are really superb m style, fit and finish. They equal m appearance the suits Ashburton men have been m tho habit of paying the tailors who give credit five and six guineas for^ and they possess one point which no other firm can supply—tho famous KeepShape Front. Tho "Keep-Shapo" Front is a registered front that ensures the coat front from turning back and getting out of shapo. It is the latest idea from tho best London and New York tailorin™ establishments, and Mr Davies is very fortunate indeed m possessing tho exclusive right to use this front m coats made m New Zealand. Gentlemen who have already had suits .made at the Christclnirch establishment since the "Keep-Shape" front was introduced have been highly pleased with the splendid coatp produced. Then, special care is given to every detail m the making of every garment, and Mr Davies is so satisfied that your suit -sirill give complete satisfaction when you order it from him that he has authorised us to state that he will give a written guarantee to refund your money should you not be entirely satisfied v'it'-i the garments when you receiro i hem. We attribute the differ°!ito of £2 m the price of Mr Dayies's suits as compared with tho ordinary made-to-measure suits largely to the modern methods adopted m the making of the garments, and, of course, also to the fact that he sells entirely for cash, giving no credit whatever, thus making no bad debts; and, alter all, it does seem absurd that one man, should have to pay a higher price fojer. his suit just because some other fellow fails to nay for his, but that is just what happens, for somebody has to pay for thoeo who do not pay, and it is naturally not the tailor who gives credit; it is the man who does pay—you. Mr Da vies has just opened m the Ashburton branch a very largo shipment of Hie newest Summer Suitings direct from tho manufacturers. They include all the latest shades and colourings m the fashionable brown and green worsteds so much worn now, also many beautiful light materials, and the standard qualities m blues and blacks, which are guaranteed to retain their colour, being of the best possible dye. Your early inspection of these splendid suitings is invited, and advised. The address is : GEORGE DAVIES, THE ARCADE,

Also at Christchurch, Wellington, Dunedin, Invercargill. Palmereton Timaru, and Wanganui.

An interesting point has arisen m connection with the dismissal of Miss Harrison from the position of schoolmistress at Tb Oranga. Miss Harrison appealed to the Teachers' Institute to support her m her protest, and at the last meeting of the committee her letter was considered. It was nointed out, however, that the Education Act only made provision for the Institute taking I steps to forward an appeal where the appellant was a teacher employed by an Education Board. As Miss Harrison is not employed by any Board, but by the Department, it was thought that the Institute could not do anything m connection with her appeal. It was decided to forward the correspondence to tho executive m Wellington, with a view 1,0 "citing a legal opinion on tho question-raised. Whether the Institute would m any c:\eo aupnort Miss Harrison m her appeal is still an open question.

TKA THAT APPETISES Is "Kozio" Tea. Composed '>< the finest Indian and Ceylon growths its splendid merits have brought it right to the front. Now thousands prefer i' to any others.
