GOOD NEWS FOR MEN.

CHRISTCHURCH BUSINESS EXTENDED TO ASHBURTON.

Acting on the suggestion of many of his patrons m Ashburton, who have done very satisfactory business by mail with Mr GEORGE I/A VIES, he hae opened a sample room m Ashburton m the ARCADE. For some time past Mr Davies's announcements have appeared m this journal, and our readers are probably aware that this firm has been saving gentlemen m Christchurch— and all over New Zealand, m fact—£2 on the price of their MADE-TO-MEA-SURE SUITS. Mr Davies claims that four, five or six guineas is too much for a man to pay for a suit, and it is fairly safe to say that most men have felt that way for some time past, and will be only too ready to avail themselves of the saving offered by Mr Davies's moderate method of conducting business. Mr Davies undertakes to supply a suit made to measure at £2 ss, £2 ICs, £2 15s, or £3 3s, which he claims v;ll be the equal, if not the superkfr, m Fit, Stylo and Finish of any suit made m Christclinrch, and stands prepared to back up his claim m this connection by giving "Oil a written guarantee that the garments will fit you perfectly when completed. The guarantee binds him to refund your money m full unless the fit is perfect. Mr Davies states that the reason he can save you £2 on the price of a suit is that ho sells for cash, thus making no tad debts to be added to the actual cost of production, wh'.ch is always necessary where credit is given. Then, of course, the modern methods of manufacture adopted m the making of these suits is a great factor for quality and economy m favour of the purchaser. The difference between this system and the methods being tdopted by the oldstyle taiJors is as different as the oldstylo method of harvesting wheat by hand with the scythe is from the modern method of using the reaner and binder, which, everybody knows, does the work both quicker and bettor. Mr Davies's suits are different from all others made m New Zealand, m that he possesses the EXCLUSIVE RIGHT to have the famous KEEP-SHAPE FRONT used m his coats. This is the front that simply can't turn back or go out of shapo, owing to the nature of its construction. It is the latest idea from the best London and New York tailoring establishments, and means much to the man who likes his clothes to retain their shape all the time lie wears them. Mr Davies has now opened up a big selection of the NEWEST SUMMER "SUITINGS, which has just arrived direct from the best manufacturers, and men will find it worth while to inspect these goods before placing their next order for a suit. The prices of these splendid made-to-measure suits are £2 ss, £2 10s, and £3 3s. 12
