The following is the market-report for the week ending July 17, 190' i: Wheat.—The first enquiry for some long time has been received dtiring the fast week for "wheat, and buyers seem more inclined to-purchase again, but at rates which "farmers are very disin-: clined to • accept. ■ At the present moment, however, there does not seem to be any prospect of higher prices in the near future, and those who wish, to get rid of their grain are, compelled' to take rates as quoted: ATuscan and Pearl, SslOd to 3s lid-/Hunters, 3s 9d. Good whole fowl wheat is in better demand, and bringing almost the price of Hunters. v ■ .: .:•'■/;. Oats. —In the absence of any demand from Australia, and the Auckland, merchants being fully supplied for the present, business has been' impossible. Sellers are willing,to dispose'-of their holdings, but in forcing sales would -have to take prices considerably below those warranted by the position,' and there is every reason to^bWieve that a better demand will be forthcoming shortly.
