A ROLLER SKATE WEDDING.
A Ne-fr York correspondent teller.c' that.* a rolle»;-skate wedding took place in Paradise "Park, Brooklyn, on a resent Saturday night. Mr Raymond Barrett and: Miss Susan Pierce have tho distinction of being the first' couple married on roller-skates, and the Rev. George Dalton, of Brooklyn, the. minister who officiated, was also on skates. About 500 frenzied roller-skaters glided into Paradise Park to see the ceremony. While they were all waiting for the Rev. Mr Dalton and his skates ■o arrive the band played Mendelssohn's ""■Wedding March" and Vesta. Victoria's ''Waiting, at; the Church." At last .the, minister" arrived, amid deafening apolause, and, after a few fancy, flourishes Mr Dalton led the bridal party to ■the altar at a good clip on his skates. 4s he swayed and swept and pigeonwinged along the floor all the boys said he cut a handsome figure,, and the girls said he was "Just? too sweet for words. After him came Mr Barrett and Miss Pierce on their skates, and the best man, Mr William Posner, and the -naid-of-honour, Miss Hattie Monroe, on theirs. Without a? much as once falling all over himself Mr Dalton oersonally conducted the whole rinkful of roller-skaters to a canopy at the end ii the room, where, without removing hiss skates, he pronounced +-he solemn •vords that made Mr Barrett and Miss Pierce man and wife. Then there was i hi" spread, at which nobody took Lheir"skates off, and after it the happy -ouplo skated out to a'- carriage ai>d be- „,,, j.i- c : r wedding journey to Atlantic City.
