THE PROPOSED RAILWAY CROSSING.
TcS'^lie-Editor. Sir,—Guaging from the comparatively few signatures that have so far been recorded on the petitions on this subject, it looks as though the general public does not take much interest in the matter. I would suggest to the Borough Council, and to Cr Nicoll particularly, who, I understand, is the promoter of the matter, that they or he should get someone to go round to all the ratepayers, and give them the opportunity of signing the petition,, so as to get a strong expression of opinion on the matter, and show tho Minister for Railways that it is much required. .RATEPAYER.
