TIMARU GRAIN REPORT.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) This week the grain market has been very quiet, no sales of any consequence having been recorded. A few small orders received last week are being executed, but the demand from outside is not brisk. Farmers are still holding wheat for 4s 6d ; consequently little business is being done in that line. Oats—There is - very little business doing, although a few sales at 2s lOd at country stations have been made. Potatoes—There is no demand whatever for potatoes, as merchants can make & larger margin of profit out of Tasmanian supplies. Dements are worth.£3 10s and Up-to-Datos £3 15s.
