DISSENTING FROM AN AWARD.

WELLINGTON, August 9. The Trades and Labour Council passed a resolution dissenting from the Arbitration award, fixing the minimum rate of wage in the general labourers' case at one shilling an hour. In a discussion, the general opinion seemed to be that it was little use giving evidence, seeing that neither profits, living wage, nor the question of extra or special skill appeared to have any influence on the Court.
