The Wool Market. Brisbane, Nov 11 The wool sales opened yesterday. Eleven thousand five hundred bales were offered, and nearly all sold. Compared with the last sales, prices averaged 5 per cent, lower. The highest price for greasy was 14£ d, and scoured 23£ d.
Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from their London office, under date 7th and 9th inst., respectively: — 11 The wool market is very firm ; for merinos and fine crossbreds the sixth series of sales are expected to open with an advance on closing rates of last saleß of 5 per cent. Since our Ja9t telegram tallow of all sorts is higher by Is to 1b 3d per awfc., except prime mutton tallow, which is Is 6d higher. Frozen meat—high prices are checking consumption—prices of River Plate frozen mutton have been reduced £d. This must to some extent affect New Zealand frozen meat."
