Accidents and Fatalities.

United Press Association—By Kleo^rio Telegraph Auckcand, Nov. 9 A fatal accident took place at St. Heliers' Bay to-day, a lad named Arnold F. Adeane being drowned. Ha was one of a yachting party of five, and was steering when the tiller broke and he was thrown into the water. His body was taken from the water as it was sinking. Artificial respiration was tried for three houra, but without effect.

In one case a father and two daughters were out in a sailing boat when the boat capsized and sank leaving the top of the mast ju3t out of the* water. The father clung to the maat, while the daughters, neither of whom could swim, were kept afloat by their clothes until assistance arrived. - Masterton, Nov 9 The body os John Gkeathead, employed on the Braasmerton St.ttion, and who has been missing since October 29, was found in the Taueru River to-day. Gbetmouth, Nov 9 At the sports meeting here during the bicycle race an accident happened to a young man named Treloar, of Eeefton. Rounding one of the bends Treloar's pedal caught a post of the fenoe, throwing him with considerable force on to the rail. He was badly injured about the chest and head, and removed to the hospital. No serious consequences are anticipated. Ryan, who was riding behind Treloar, was heavily thrown, being cut about the head and face. Dcnedin, Nov. 9 A woman fell off the train for Lawrence this morning, and was brought to- towD, but is nob very seriously injured' A man fell off the first express train from Christchurch after pissing Merton. He appears to have escaped with slight injury.
