The peasants of the Kartamy Hhevka, Odessa district, went to their landlord, to complain of the exorbitant rents, when a force of Cossacks suddenly appeared and fired, killing three and wounding eleven. The police later arrested one Hundred and twenty.

An extraordinary meeting of the Don nobility passed a resolution protesting against the employment of Don Cossacks as police, as contrary to the traditions of military k dignity.
