A Novel Dwelling House.

In Tonopah, Nevada U.S., is a house which reminds one of the first line of a well-known song, "The Night ha 3 a Thousand Eyes/ for it has a thousand or more eyes. As one approaches it the sides suggest a great wall of honeycomb, a cement pavement filled with bulls' eyes, an immense wasps' nest, or a picture of the oye of a fly mignifiod the usual number of times. The house is constructed of bottles laid in mud for lack of plaster or cement.

Ifc was erected by a miner who used them because other material was scarce. Just what the bottles contained before they wero used for this purpose, or why they were so much more easily obtained than lumber, is nob explained by any published accounts of the queer house. It is 20 feet by 16 feet, 'tnd contains two rooms. The bottles wero placed in rows, with tho bottoms outward, the walls being about a foot in thickness.

The corners are wooden beams, covered with mud. It is said that in winter it is mure comfortable than many of the other buildings in Tonopah. One wonder.* whether the occupants cf thi3 queer house are awakened earlier in the morning than their oeighbouis, by tha glass streaming through the glass walls. It ia certain that they cannot afford to throw stones at their neighbours.
