Canterbury Lawn Tennis Championships.

Tho entries for the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Championship Tournament closed on Wednesday night, and surpass in quality and quantity all the expectations of the Committee. The present champions of New Zealand, Mr H. A. Parker and Miss Nunneley, have entered, Other good players who will be present are Mr Lycetfc, of Melbourne* whose play was greatly admired at the New Zealand Championship in Dunedinj Mr F. M. B. Fisher, and Miss Powdrell, whose splendid fight for the Championship against Miss Nunneley, was probably the feature of the Dunedin tournament. Lovers of the game may therefore look forward to witnessing some fine exhibitions of play.
