BARING SQUARE CHURCH.

The services at Baling Square Church on Sunday were specially adapted for the season of the year. In the morning Mr William Harding', of Williwby, preached a thoughtful sermon from the text— " Emmanuel, God with us." Rev. A. Peters addressed the children afc the afternoon's service, taking for his topic " Christians Cards," and gave many interesting details regarding the inception and wondorful development of thia method of interchanging Christmas good wishes. Instances were related of long-standing quarrels and differences being healed through the silent groetin^s passs.i from one to another, and the very practical service rendered by a custom which is often looked upon as merely senfcimontal, was illustrated by appropriate anecdotes. In the evening, when the church was wellfilled, Mr Poters preached from the incident of the Magi rendering homage to the infant Christ. Special Christmas hymn 3 were rendered by the Sunday School fcholarsand choir, and though, through the limi ed timo given t^ practice, the excellent standard reached by Baring Square musical people on other occasions was not attained, the carols were very much enjoyerl, and, in future years, the same order of service will no doubt be as much appreciated as ifc was on Sunday last.
