Ashbukton Traffic Bridge.—The Ashburton Traffic Bridge was permanently reopaned to-day, and needless to say that section of the community using the bridge fully uppreciated the fact, together with the improvements made. During the year one third of the bridge has been redecked, and the County Council are hopeful that the whole bridge will be similarly treated ia the course o£ the next two years. Foboe—the New Food.—This afternoon a representative of this paper paid a visit to Messrs Shearman Bros' establishment, Burnett Street, where Miss Schwabe, travelling representative for Force Food, is conducting demonstrations of the various methods of preparing this delicious breakfast novelty. Force is composed of pure wheat and malt barley, specially prepared, the presence of malt rendering the food easily digestible. Our representative tasted one of the preparations—baked Force served with prunes and crearu, and can testify to the toothsomeness of this con* lection. Force can be served in many ways, rendering it suitable for breakfast, dinner, supper, or afternoon tea. Usud in the place of oatmeal for porridge it produces an appetising and easily digu--8 ed breakfast food which while possesing all the nutritious qualities of the real Scotch " parritch." has none of its disadvantages, having no heating effect on the system and being easy of digestion. Miss Sohwabe will be in atteudance at Messrs Shearman Bros' establishment during next week, and will initiate the public into the mysteries of Force Food preparation Misa Schwabe is herself one of the best advertisements of the beneficial effects of Force Foo:l that could be imagined, and we trust the general public will not I lose the apportunifcy now afforded them of having the properties of this coni venieflt and nutritious food explained to them by so charming and capable an exponent.—A demonstration will be given tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock,
