The Federal Executive has appointed Mr Copelandto reprefent the Commonwealth at the PBcific Cable Conference shortly to be held in London, to consider .the effect on the Pacific cable business of the proposed agreement between the Commonwealth and the Eastern Extension Cable Company, also general matters connected with the Pacific cable.

Tho House of Eepresentatives by twentynine votes to twenty one, adopted an amendment excluding farm hands and dairying employees from tho Arbitration Bill. ,
