Price of Flour.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.
Wellihciton, June V
The Millers' Association, following the lead here of certain outside millers (Belford Mill, Timaru, and Messrs Stevens and Co., Dunedin), has reduced flour to £8. There is a general feeling that a fight has begun,, the prevailing belief being that with the Association it is " trust or bust." Leading 1 bakers interviewed seem to be agreed on two points. Firstly, they enjoy the situation ; secondly, "they scout the idea that the present drop of 10s can make any difference in the price of bread. The leading" exponent of the latter view declared that nothing less than a drop of £2 15s can justify the drop of a halfpenny in the 41b loaf. Dunedik. June 7 Negotiations for the settlement of the 1 dispute in connection with the Flourmillers* Association are still proceeding. It is expected that the matter will be brought to a definite head by noon tomorrow.
