Mblboubnb, March 1 Dowie held two meetings iv the Zion tabernacle and the strictest precautions were taken to exclude any one likely to give trouble. Dowie bitterly attacked the authorities for failing to preserve or<ler on the previous day and night. He said he would find it his duty to place himself under his own flag and communicate with the Consul General of the United States to obtain protection. He also violently attacked the Bißhop of Melbourne who, he said, was a Freemason first and a Christian nowhere. Subsequently Dowie interviewed th>< Commissioner of Police, and complained that the police were not doing their dnty by preserving order. The interview concluded by Dowie thanking the Commissioner for nothing and bouncing out.
