Hampstead School Committee.
The Hampstead School Committee met ■ last evening. Present—Rev. E. Raine, • Messrs F. Ferriman, W. Thompson, G, j Rumsey, G. W. Andrews, A. C. Hardy, and J. Johns, In the absence of the chairman, Rev. G. B. Inglis, who forwarded an apology, the chair was taken by the fiev. Mr Raine. THE L&TB CONCERT. The master submitted a balance sheet in connection v ith the last concert in aid j of the TJni'orm Fund. It showed a balance I of £12 18s 6d; this with the sura of 10s j reoeived from Heatley Bros, for the use of | the room brought the amount up to J613 8a 6d, which had been paid to tee credit of the Uniform Fund. As the uniforms had cost £16 9s there still remained a debit of £3. It was decided to pay the £3 out of the interest of the money lying at the Hank to the credit of the last Hoko. master's report. The master reported that the number on the roll was 308, and the average attendance for the quarter was 251. The master expressed the opinion that if the weather had been more propitions the proceeds from theconoert would have been muoh greater. RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION. The Board of Education forwarded a form to be filled in, giving the names of the church denomination of the ministers who give Bible lessons. The chairman wrote stating that he had forwarded the information desired. THE SCHOOL BUILDING. On the motion of Mr Ferriman, seconded by Mr Johns, it was decided to write to the Education Board drawing atteutioa to the necessity of having the school buildings painted. VISITING COMMITTEE Rev. Mr Raine and Mr Thompson were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month. On the motion of Mr Ferriman it was resolved to write to the Education Beard acting that body to use its influence towards securing a free pass from the Goverment for the physical instructor, Mr Hornibrook. ACCOUNTS, Accounts amounting to £9 15s were passed for payment and the Committee then adjourned.
