Golf.—The half yearly Bogey Match for the Bermaline Challenge Cup was played on the Ashburton Links yesterday afternoon, and good golf and .close struggles made an interesting competition. Mr D. Mr Wood, playing from scratch, wa3 in excellent form, his play all thtoughthe green being without blemish, and the sco.re made by him is a record for the local links. Mr G. H. Buchanan, who is a first year goiter and has a handicap of 9, was runner up, and also played a first class game. Had he not gone to pieces at the latter end of the game he should have won comfortably, Mr Buchanan stood driving 4 on the colonel after 14 hole 3 had been played. He, however, lacked staying power, and lost all the remaining holes, finishing up all square with bogey. Other good scores were made by Mr H. H. Fooks (4), one down; Mr A. T.
