Ashburton Live Stock Market.
The sale to-day at the Tinwald yards was an average one for sheep but small for cattle. The biddings were not brisk, but prices held their own for anything not backward in condition. The attendance was up to the average. The following are ! some of the prices : — I Cattle.—Store Cattle—Dairy cow .£4 15s, springers £5 10s to £S 7s Cd. F;it Cattle — Heifer3 £7 to £7 7s Gd ; cows £4 5s to ,£6 ss; steers £5 17s 6d ; vea^r 14s. Sheep—Fat Sheep—Crossbred ewes V\ to 13s 3d, lambs iis fid to 13s 10<l, freezing ewes 13s 6d, freezing lambs 11s 3d to 13s M. Stores—Crossbred ewes 5s to 10s, lambs 5s 9d to 11s 4tl, crossbred wethera 5s 7d to 14s Bd. The late Mr E. G. Wright's 2-tooth ewes fetched 16s 2d.
