OBITUARY.
MRS T. SCOTT. Still another old resident of Ashburton has passed away m the person of Mrs T. Scott. wife of Mr Thomas Scott, of • the Railway Department. Mrs Scott was some, yeafg ligr Jmsband's senior, and at $he time of her cleath was &G' years of age. She originally hailed from Devonshire, and after being married m London, proceeded ! to New Zealand m 1874, with.her husband settling m Trevorton, The deceased lady was one of the first females to settle here. With the exception of a brief interval, i during which time she and her husband 1 resided m Southland, Mr and Mrs Scott have been constantly resident m Ashburton and are numbered am^ng out oldest inhabitants. Deceased was the mother of jbhe late Mrs JaiiaieS'tjfakar;' who resided up to phe time'of her death' with her husband m Hayelock street, and the latter of whom is now jn.fche North Island, Deceased had been ailing for the past three years. Being of a kind and qhpery disposition, Mrs Scott will be inuoh missed, and especially by the old residents whom she was intimately acquainted, with, The funeral takes place to- morrow at 2.30 p.m. At the Ashb,urton Hospital yesterday th£ dentil occprpod of a man uamed George Willo^, of Mejjhveiij aged 67 years.
