COOPER SHEEP DIP. An Extra Half-Penny per lb for your Wool. From MR STEWARTM^UKETQueeiistowii, Otago. Pecember 13th, 1902. * 6 ~f" SHOULD like to inform you of the results of ray last dipping. The wool JL f 1 oni that half cf my flock which I dipped m " COOPER " realised a half-penny per lb more than the other balf of the clip—though all the sheep were run on the same country. This is a fact, and I leave it to speak for itself. It is the more remarkable when I tell you that the Cooper-dipped half not being shorn till after the other sheep— picked up a lot of bidibidi (burr) which my other sheep escaped, and I therefore really expect id to get less for the Cooper-dipped wool. I always use the Dip striotly according to directions and am especially particular m keeping the bath well stirred, so that each and every sheep takes away its proper share of the stuff, which I find remains m the wool till the next shearing, thus doing all the pood. If the bath is not kept stirred all this falls to the bottom and becomes waated sediment. I also mix the powder the day before I put it m the bath. lam going to use Cooper on all my sheep this year. ' I should add that both lots of the above clip were sold m London at the same time. The half not dipped m Cooper brought 9d perlb j all the Cooper-dipped parcels realising Did per lb." COMMENTSBy the expenditure of less than a half-penny per sheep more than fourpence is thus gained by using Cooper, m improving the wooljatone, and this is m addition to its usefulness m destroying sheep pests. Every Sheepowner who similarly uses "Cooper" will enjoy similarly profitable results; for the innumerable analyses which have been made of this well-tried preparation have never m one single instance shown the least appreciable difference m strength or quality. Its mode of manufacture renders the slightest variation absolutely impossible. . Therefore, results varying from those obtained by Mr Duke can be caused only by the varying circumstances attending the dipping of sheep. Friedlakder Bros., Ltd., Agents. A LARGE ORDER. TrtROB ABLY the largest order ever placed for harvesting machinery, says the " Farm Implement News," United States, is that just closed with the McCormick division o the International Harvester Company. It comprises mowers, binders, reapers, and sujky rakes, amounting m all to 16,021 machines. This great order was placed by Messrs R. Wallut and Co., Paris. M Wallut reports that the demand for American agricultural implements is constantly increasing, notwithstanding the tarin restrictions incidental to the failure of the United States Senate to ratify the reciprocity treaty with France.
