Primitive Methodist Church.

The series of special evangelistic services commenced m the Primitive Methodist Church yesterday by the connexional evangelist, the Rev. G-. H. Mann met with very encouraging success. The services throughout the day were well attended, there being a particularly large congregation at night. In the evening Mr Mann sang a beaittiful solo, entitled "Will there be any stars," the congregation taking up the refrain very heartily. The subject of the discourse was " Feeding the multitude, or our personal responsibility." The sermon was well received, and was calculated to do much, good. In the afternoon a special addresa was delivered to the young people. In the evening Mr Mann took as his subject, " Repentance, what is it ?" and urged that this was a fundamental doctrine of the sacred Scriptures. He contended that there •was an essential difference, which needed to be more fully understood, between ponance and penitence. The missioner sang, " Count your blessings," the choir and congregation singing the refrain. Mrs Marsden also sang very sweetly, immediately after the address, " The Wonderful love of Jesus." The mission promises to be a very successful one, and will be continued every night through the week. During the evening telegrams regarding the improved condition of the King were read out; one m the morning and one at night, the tenor of these being mentioned elsewhere.
