Tbe total casualties in Colooel Yon* donop'a convoy co far reported are five officers and forty-five men killed, six officers and 120 men wounded, ten Oilcers and 302 men missing, No details of the disaster are to hand.
The Daily Mail states that De Wet and Steyn were encamped during tbe attack on the Seventh New Zealaodera.
Lord Kitchener personally directed the final movements of the " drive."
Tbe casualties to Colonel Vondonop's convoy are distributed as follows:— Ten Northumberland Fasiliern killed and fifty-nine wounded; two cf the
Fifth Battalion Imperial Yeominry killed and thirteen wounded ; eighteen of the Third Uattalion South Stafforda
killed and five wounded ; other Yeo-
manry forces fifteen killed and thirtyseven wounded. In addition to these
} ten officers and three hundred and two ] men are missing.
Colonel Fang's column captured eighteen Boers at Middleburg, and twenty-three surrendered,
