A meeting of burgesses convened by Mr Macintosh, Mayor (as a burgess) was held tonight to consider whether any steps should be taken to have the anomalies in borough assessment corrected! Mr Macintosh read out a list of comparisons he had made of properties which he considered inequitably valued. An animated discussion followed, in which one Councillor said it was bad form for the Mayor to go against the Council's own valuer. A resolution was pa.sed, with two dissentients in a meeting of forty recommending the Oounci to take steps to have the anomalies removed by the Assessment Court.
