TEMUKA STOCK SALE
Afc the fortnighfly sale of stock at Temuka yesterday, the entry was larger than for several previous months owing probably to the recent welcome rains encouraging the idea that eales on a satisfactory basis could be tffected. There was a slightly improved demand, and a fair proportion of the yarding changed hands. There was little inquiry foraheep. Pigs sold readily at quotations. Prices realised were as follows : -Cattle—Fat cows, £6 10s. £6 158, £7, £7 10s to £7 12s 6d ; fat heifers, £515 a, £8, £6 ss, to £6 \7s 6d ; steers and heifers, 2yr to 2|yr, £2 9s 6d, £3, £3 4j, £3 7s, £310 d, to £4 14s; springers, £5155, £517s 6d, £6, £6 12* 6d to £6 15 j ; dry cows, £4 Us. £4 12s, to £4 Ibi ; cows in profit, £3, £3 15j, to £5; yearlings, £110 ato £2 19i; Cilvea. 11s to 19a. Sheep-Fat ewes, lls, 11s 6d, 11* Bi, 22s 12.s 63, 12s 9d, to 13s j ewes and lambs, all counted, 6a Bd. 63 101, 7a 4d, 7a6o\ 7s 81 ; 4 tooth wethers, 10a 6.1 to lo^Bd. Pigs-rWeaHers, 5«, 6s, 6s 9d, to 8^ ; stores, Bs, 10a, 12s 13*, 14s 6d, to 17a 6d ; sows in pig, 24s to 28^; dy sows, 18 i to 20 i.
