Too Smart.
This atory is told by a trade journal of a master builder and a British work* man. Having heard that the men did not start work at the proper time, Ihe employer thought he would drop down about 6 f 30 one morning and see. Going up to the yard, ho caught sight of a joiner standing smoking, with his kit not yet even opened. Simply askiug bim his name, which he found to be Malcplm Campbell, he called him into his office, and, handing him four days pay, ordered him to leave at once. After seeing the map clear of tbe yard, he went up to the foreman and explained that he had made an example of Malcolm Campbell by paying him 1 off for not starting at tbe proper hoar* * Great Scovt!' ejaculated the foreman, * that chap was only looking for a job.'
