THE BRITISH EMPIRE AND ITS COLONIES.
Jewelled in every link, forming a mighty chain, Wedded with purity, strength, and love, Stretching from continent to continent, from main to main. Prompting earth's peace, and smiled on from above.
The components of each link, like unto pure gold, Embedding precious atones of priceless worth, Of heavenly brilliancy and wealth untold, Shedding light and happiness o'er all toe earth.
No fliw in any link to mar the whole, Bach of real value, from one common stock ; Formed by skilled brain, and by noble soul, Secure from evil of a wide world's shock.
Like unto this shall be our Nation's Empire. in unity bound together with true might; Strengthening always with love's electric fire, With matoh'aas power upholding what is right.
Spreading o'er all the earth a heavenly peace, Bringing to everyone both equity and love. This be her aim, and may «he never cease To look for help from Him who reigna above.
Thus let us grasp with outatretehod hands The looked-for peace that's promised to the earth, From Iceland's frigid shore to A rica burning sands, Springing from love and of Celestial birth.
May such be Britain's mission and her aim, Her constant effort to put right the wrong; Liberty to ail and freedom to proclaim, Gaided by pure motives and faith all strong.
So nh»li she carry our the work dtß'gned, By Him her great Almighty founder God, Her rulers strive with all their master mind To ease life's burden and reduce its load.
