The bodies of Miss Franks and Miss Jonea were buried m the same grave at Yaldhurst cemetery on Tuesday. The funeral proeesoion was exceptionally large, and the seryioe was very impressive. Bahy Howden w&b buried at Bydenham, Rev. S. Bean conducting the service, AH the wounded m the Christchurch Hospital are reported to be ''doing famously." The Ohristchurch Presbytery, on the motion of Rev. Gordon Webster, passed the following resolution—" That the Presbytery desire to express their profound sympathy with the bereaved and the suffering m connection with the deplorable accident at Rakaia, on Saturday last, and earnestly commends them to the God of all comfort and help, and praya that the occasion may be sanptified t6 alt who have had any share m it, especially to those whose share m it is heaviest." The Rev. Mr' P. J. Riddle, of Rakais*, m seconding the motion, referred to the pourageous way m which those who had been' alightly wounded had conducted themselyea. There hac} been no complaints or grumblings, and everyone seemed glad that things wore not worse.
