Invasion of Cuba Dangerous.

Received Wakapuaka April 26, 9.30 a.m., Gpabdian Office 10 a.m. Washington, April 25 There is a conflict of opinion between the American Cabinet and the army authorities with regard to the invasion of Cuba. Mr Alger, the Secretary for War, wishes the regular troops to proceed to Cuba immediately, but General Miles considers it would be dangerous to attempt the occupation of the island with less than fifty thousand troops, and prefers to organise and drill the volunteer force before invasion, Madrid, April 25 The Archbishop of Madrid has issued a pastoral letter m which he commends the Spanish army and navy to the protection of all the saints,. The letter, it is stated, almost promises the troops invulnerability from the bullets of the enemy.
