Press Association —By Eiectrio Telegraph— Copyright London, December 8 The London Colonial Club entertained Sir Saul Samuel, the retiring Agent-General for New South Walee, at a banquet. All the Agents-General were present except Messrs Thee. Playford and W. P. Reeves. These gentlemen sent apologies regretting that they were unable te attend. Sir Saul Samuel, replying to ihe toast of hie health, deprecated the agencies being turned into large shop windows in the city. He considered that the task of purchasing millions of pounds' worth of railway material, and con- j ducting large financial operations were A quite as much commercial operations fl as the promotion of the butter trade. I It was, he thought, unwise for the* Government to promote trade in a 1 manner entirely impracticable. 1
