ASHBURTON RACING CLUB SUMMER MEETING. Owners are again reminded that acceptances for all handicaps and entries for Novel Race olose this evening at 9 o'clock;, TINWALD RACING CLUB
At the Committee meeting of the Tinwald Racing Club, at which there was a good attendance of members, a letter was received from the Colonial Secretary granting a totalisator permit for use at the New Year's J)fty meeting. The application of Mr J. Leitch for right to sell cards was granted with a slight alteration on his terms. The Chairman reported the purchase of a new set of weighing scales. The Secretary said he had been asked by several owners to approach the Committee with a view to having the conditions of the trot altered so aa to allow owners to ride or drive. The Committee decided that they : could not see their way to alter the conditions now, as the programme had been approved by the Association, and the time would be too short to make the necessary alteration, but they would consider tbe request in the future. Jt was resolved to secure the teryices of the Ashburto'it fyml to play at the meeting. $he dhairnjan reported on improvement* that had been effected, and suggested souse further top-dressing, etc., whioh it was decided to d,o at code. Messrs F. Lewis and Barnes Hampton ; were elected life members for their past j valuable seryice. to the Ql_.fl. ' After some further routine tbe. -nesting adjourned.
