The Wanganui Herald reports that a young man named Mitchell, at th 9 imminent risk of his life, dashed at the bridle of a runaway horse that was galloping up the Avenue dragging its rider along lhe ground by his foof-, which was caught in the stirrup. Id an instant the horse was brought to the ground, where all three for a moment were mixed up The success of younsf Mitchell^ courageous act was quickly demonstrated, as the prostrate rider was instantly released by willing hands from his perilous position and removed from the hospital for treatment.
