Terrible Affray in Ireland.
fourteen Men Arrested m m Murder Can,
A terrible outrage was perpetrated the other Sunday night at Ballinderry, near the town of Borrisokane, County Tip* perary. It appears that on Sunday afternoon fourteen men from the County Gal way crossed the river Shannon to the Tipperary side, and near Ballinderry they met a man O'Callaghan on the road. One of the excursionists went to speak to him, whereupon one of the party named Kelly re narked that he was an emergency man, and should not be spoken to. O'Callaghan was near his own house at the time, and a scuffle ensued between him, his wife, and his daughter on the one side, and some of the excursionists on the other. O'Calla^han took a gun and shot Kelly, and before he could be prevented he discharged the second barrel, wounding two or three others. One of the party seized a crowbar, and delivered a fatal blow on O'Callaghan's head. An inquest was held on Monday afternooa, and evidence embodying the foregoing facts was given, but the inquiry was adjourned pending a post mortem examination. Fourteen men have been arrested, and O'Callaghan's wife and daughter declared that they would be able to identify the man who used the crowbar. Grreat excitement has been caused m the district by the dreadful occurrence, and that feeling has been intensified by the fftqt that a settlement was expected to be Bnojrfcly brpug|yt about u,pon the. estate oh tftacji Cj'CaUaghan w^s care? tak 3 r.
