ASHBURTON MARKETS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile: Agency Company, Limited, (A. W. Steele, auctioneer) reports on the stock market for the week as follows:—At the Ashburton yards on Tuesday there was only a medium entry, but a large attendance of farmers. la the fat pens the entry was a fair one, but bidding was not over brisk. We sold sixtooth crossbreds, m the wool, at 13s lOd. In the store pens, the bulk of the entry comprised ewea with lamb 3at foot, and tor t'ipae there was a good demand. We topped th» market at 163 lOd. The sales were as follows : — Fat Sheep. — Crossbred ewea, shorn, 9o 2d, 93 9d. 10s Id; m the wgj>l£tl4<i 9d. Merino ewes,sshortn t 4s 93. CrSaiDred two-tooths, m wool, Us ; two-fcooths m wool, 11s; shorn two-tooths, 6s 6d. Stores.— Crossbred ewes, with lambs at foot, 13s Id, 153, 15s 9d, 16s lOd, according to age and percentage of lambs. Shorn crossbred twotooths, 8s 8d ; hoggets m wool, 10s 2d, 133 KM, and 14s 9d ; merino ewes, with lamb 9, 8s 9d ; four-tooth crossbreds, 13s lOd. During the week we sold privately a line of crossbred ewea, with 100 per cent of lambs, afcl6jiOJ.
