The 40Q head of cattle purchased by Mesßrs Hay Bros., Pigeon Bay, from, Hv Acton-Adamsi, Taxndale, were brought from Oulverden by Bf ecial train on Tuesday. Thirty-nina trucks wero required to convey the cjattle to ©hiistchuroh. The usual monthly meetiug of the South Rakaia School Committee was held on Monday evening at Mr Oxley'a office. Present —Messrs Hardy (chairman), Oxley, Dixon, Liddy, and Bryant. The Chairman reported that the magic lantern is in perfect order, now. A new lamp burner hao been procured and would be available when required for a show. The credit balance in hand was £13 14s. Accounts for £12 6s 6d were passed for p' yment, A vbt eof thanks was accorded to Mr Holmes for his donation towards the expenses of Arbor Day, The Master, reported the attendance as fair, considering the bad weather, and the m.easlea, He sug-. gested that a harmonium, be presided, If passible, for use in the school singing lessons.
