The winner of any Handicap after the publication of the weights, to carry 7 lbs extra. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the district between the Road Board districts of Malvern, East and South Malvern, Lake Coleridge, Courtenay, and the Ellesmere Racing district on the north, and the Waitaki river o/i the south, from the dividing range to the sea, from January 22, 1893, and up to the date of the meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the said district during the same period. Handicaps for the second day's races at or about eight o'clock in the evening of the first day's i acing.
