Auckland, Ootober 6. After an absence of twelve months! Mr Jdßtlce Gillies again took bis seat on the Bench at the Supreme Court today. There was a large attendance of the legal profession, and Mr B. Hesketh on their behalf read an address of welcome to Mr Justice Gillies, stating that his enforced retirement through 111-health bad caused considerable regret, The address also referred to the efficient manner In whioh Mr Justice Ward had dlsoharged the duties daring Mr Justice Gillies' ebsenos. Mr Jostlce Gillies, m reply expressed satisfaction at this, and retaraed thanks for the address m suitable terms.
