AN INFURIATED MOB.
London, September 20. Thousands of persons assembled at Lilliebridge grounds yesterday to witness a race which was announced to take place between the sprint runners Hutchen and Gent. For some unknown reason no race took place, and the crowd becoming furious, set fire to the grand stand and wrecked everything about the grounds. A body of police arrived, and the mob ultimately dispersed. (Received Saptember 21, 11 50 p.m.) HOME MARKETS. London, September 19. Colonial breadstuffs and tallow are without any quotable change. At to-day's wool sale 1 1,600 bales was offered, and the market was firm.
